Hey Pops – Surprise!!!
Father’s Day is a great opportunity to let you know how much you mean to me. Although you’re my “master…” I prefer to think of you as Dad.
From the minute you walked into my life when I was a wee thing – you’ve treated me special. You gave me a job as head of security at Deliver the Dream – and allowed me to be pampered by all of the wonderful staff on a daily basis! They always make sure I’m feeling loved.
I know there have been times I’ve let you down. There have been accidents… chewing mistakes were made and I’ve done “puppy” things I’m not proud of. Believe me – I feel bad about that… I really do!
But… as I get older I realize there isn’t anything I wouldn’t do for you and the team at Deliver the Dream. It’s kind of like you feel about the many families that we help at Deliver the Dream! We have the opportunity to walk into their lives at a time when they need support – helping them on the way to becoming whole, loving families again.
Yup, Pops… I’m proud of you and the whole Deliver the Dream team. I’m also grateful for the many friends that support the mission of DTD. They allow us to take care of the other Dads who give so much to their own family.
So, to all of the great fathers that do so much… Happy Father’s Day!!!

The Auxiliary Group of Deliver the Dream is expanding. Come join us as we develop new ideas to raise funds for Deliver the Dream’s Retreat Program. No experience necessary; just willing to pitch in with others to help form new relationships and spread the word about our organization.
Why become a Dream Girls
Each Retreat costs $40,000 or more, depending on the family’s medical issues and needs. We provide 10 Retreats each year and need to raise more than $400,000 just for Retreat Programs.
Our Dream Girls not only help with fundraising, but “friend-raising” as well. The motto, “many hands make light work.” is so appropriate for an organization like the Dream Girls Society.
Here are just some benefits of Membership that we can offer you each year:
- Complimentary “members only” admission to Membership & Networking events
- Email updates
- Dream Notes Newsletter
- 10% discount on all Deliver the Dream events
- 50% discount on ads in our event programs
- Opportunities to volunteer on Retreats
- Leadership opportunities to serve on various Society committees.
Join a vibrant group of philanthropic professionals who work together to help families heal……one Retreat at a time!

The 2nd grade students at Nova Southeastern University School raised over $2,400 for our retreat program! These students put a great deal of time and effort into raising money for our program by selling teddy-grams (gummy bear bags) during lunch for $1 in the name of Hope the Bear. In addition, every child who donated $10 was able to fill out a “birth certificate” for a Hope the Bear teddy and give it a name. The certificates and teddy bears will be given to children on our upcoming 2016 retreats.
Thank you so much to Shannon Dickey and Nova Southeastern University School for working so hard to help families in crisis! We truly appreciate your dedication to Deliver the Dream.
The Volunteer(s) of the Month for June are Donna and Chris Heder! This mother/son duo is unstoppable when it comes to helping families. Donna started volunteering back in 2008, while Chris joined us back in 2011. Both Chris and Donna have volunteered at several retreats and local fundraising events, and they always bring an enthusiastic and dedicated attitude with them. Their passion for Deliver the Dream’s mission truly shines when they are volunteering with us. Thank you Chris and Donna for a job well done!
The Whiting family from Melbourne (From the left- Tori, Cayce, Robin, Ana, Jenna and Robie) attended the recent retreat for families who have a child with a blood disorder. “Very enlightening weekend. I’ve done nothing but talked about it... The best weekend ever!”
Grants are the life-blood of most charitable organizations. Deliver the Dream’s Retreat Program is no different. In fact, as a small, community based organization, we rely on relationships with Florida foundations and corporate giving programs.
Grants provide us with “free funds”; that is, funding that does not come through special events or other costly marketing efforts. Grant funding provides the opportunity to offer families going through traumatic health issues a short respite and healing experience at no cost to them. Each Retreat costs between $40,000-$45,000 depending on the illness and venue. We would like to expand our funding relationships with new opportunities and need your help!
If you know of a local foundation or corporation willing to help underwrite the cost of our retreats through grant funding, please call Venetia Timm at 954-564-3512 or email email@example.com.
